Located near the island’s southwestern tip, this bustling tourist destination was built in the 1960s and has since become a hotspot for North European tourists.

The resort is filled with British restaurants, bars, and hotels, offering a taste of home for many visitors. The white sandy beaches are a major attraction, drawing crowds of sun-worshippers seeking relaxation and a warm climate.

While exploring Playa de las Americas, I uncovered a vast array of entertainment options, making it the perfect place for those seeking an exciting nightlife experience.

Veronica’s Strip, in particular, is the go-to spot for clubs, karaoke bars, and other forms of amusement. This popular resort also offers ample opportunities to enjoy water sports such as flyboarding, banana boating, parasailing, and fly fishing.

The waters are generally calm, making it an ideal place for families, couples, and groups of friends.

Along the beach, there are several facilities, such as kiosks selling refreshing drinks and ice-creams, and even volleyball nets for those feeling energetic.

Playa del Camison

This pristine beach beckons with its soft sands, azure waters, and serene atmosphere. Playa del Camisón offers a quieter atmosphere compared to some of the bustling neighbouring beaches, making it an ideal spot for those desiring a more relaxed day by the sea.

The beach is easily accessible, with well-maintained pathways leading directly from the town centre. Ample parking facilities and nearby bus stops ensure a hassle-free journey for visitors.

Playa del Camisón caters to your comfort with amenities like sunbeds and umbrellas available for rent.

There is only one bar-restaurant on the beach itself called People Beach but you can indulge your taste buds with the beachfront restaurants and cafes nearby offering delectable local and international cuisine.

  • Sol Tenerife Hotel: Located just 656 feet (200 m) away from the beach, this hotel offers budget accommodation for $105 per night. Reviews are 7 on average so read reviews carefully on this one;
  • H10 Las Palmeras: Another hotel close to the Veronicas Strip, with a rating of 7.9 out of 10 and a price of $170+ per night;
  • Kn Aparthotel Columbus: Providing comfortable stay options at $117+ per night, this hotel has a 7.6 out of 10 rating.

One of my favourite spots in the area is the Magic Lounge Club. It’s not only a popular dance club but also offers a fantastic selection of 2-for-1 cocktails.

The music, vibe, and exceptional customer service create a fun and memorable atmosphere.

Another noteworthy location is Tramps The King Of Clubs. This bar offers both karaoke nights and a more traditional clubbing experience.

The diverse music selection and friendly atmosphere make it a must-visit destination during your stay in Playa de las Americas.

If you are interested in live music, Jags Scottish Bar is a great choice. This restaurant and entertainment bar is famous among both residents and tourists for its live bands, cocktails, and delicious food options.

For a more refined experience, Hard Rock Cafe Tenerife provides not only a delicious dining experience but also showcases live bands and entertainment. The modern ambience, coupled with their vast cocktail menu, creates an enjoyable night out.

In addition to these venues, Playa de las Americas also has other options for nightlife, such as:

  • “Savage” International, which offers Mediterranean cuisine and live entertainment;
  • Harry’s Pool Bar, situated in the shopping centre Safari where you can enjoy a drink in a relaxed atmosphere.

Activities for Families

Tenerife’s Playa de las Americas is a fantastic destination for families with kids, as it offers numerous engaging activities to entertain everyone.

One of the best places to visit is Siam Park, which consistently ranks as one of the world’s top water parks. This park has something for all ages; the Lost City is a dedicated area for younger kids, while The Wave Palace provides fun for older children and even adults.

For families who enjoy the water, there are a variety of activities to choose from. Surf Life Tenerife offers parasailing, paragliding, scuba and snorkelling lessons that cater to both kids and adults.

Additionally, boat tours grant a memorable private yacht experience for families, complete with welcoming crew members.

Discovering the island’s natural wonders is another great activity for families. Teide National Park is home to Mount Teide, the highest mountain in Spain, and offers guided tours that enable kids to learn about volcanoes and diverse landscapes.

Another spa I visited was the Aranya Bua Thai massage, Costa Adeje. It stood out for its diverse range of massage techniques and overall atmosphere of relaxation.

The staff at Wellness Center are friendly and accommodating, making it simple to book an appointment. My experience with their soothing massages and serene ambience left me feeling thoroughly refreshed.

For those staying at the Marylanza Suites & Spa, the on-site spa facilities offer a delightful way to indulge in relaxation without leaving the comforts of your hotel. I found the staff to be welcoming and skilled, ensuring my spa experience was nothing short of exceptional.

Finally, during my time in Playa de las Americas, I also discovered fitness and well-being activities, such as the Bg Pilates Studio Las Americas. Complementing the spa experiences I enjoyed, the Pilates and yoga classes provided an excellent opportunity to maintain my physical fitness while on vacation.

From May through November, I find the average temperatures in Playa de las Américas falling between 20 degrees Celsius (68°F) and 26 degrees Celsius (79°F). This period is known for having the best weather, making it the most popular time for tourism in the region.

The island’s weather can vary, however, depending on the time of year and the specific location within Tenerife. As I travel from the coast to the mountainous areas, I notice that temperatures drop and rainfall increases.
