Our Tips

  • Visit in the morning, before the park gets busy: once the monkeys have had their fill of visitor snacks, they’ll go back to their hiding places and leave you standing there with a tub of nuts, wondering what to do with it;
  • Keep an eye on your belongings: I’m still not over the time a squirrel monkey attempted to open the zip on my backpack and try to make off with whatever he could find inside;
  • Grab some fresh fruit from your hotel’s breakfast buffet, if you can (Bananas are contraband here, but you’re allowed to take in other food…): the monkeys will be your friends for life. Well, until they’ve eaten everything you have to offer, at least;
  • When you enter the park, turn immediately to the right: the monkey enclosure there is often overlooked by visitors, so offers the best opportunity to get the monkeys to yourself for a while.
