Arco de Tajao, Tenerife

As I stand before the magnificent Arco de Tajao, I can’t help but marvel at its natural beauty. This stunning natural arch is located in the south of Tenerife in the Canary Islands and is a must-visit for anyone who loves rock formations and natural wonders.

Description

Arco de Tajao, also known as the Arch of Tajao, is a natural arch that has been formed by the erosion of volcanic rock. The arch is located near Playa de Tajao in Tenerife’s San Miguel de Tajao and is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike.

Formation

The formation of Arco de Tajao is believed to have started millions of years ago when volcanic activity created the island of Tenerife. Over time, the volcanic rock was eroded by the sea and wind, creating the arch that we see today.

Erosion

Erosion continues to play a significant role in the formation of Arco de Tajao. The sea and wind continue to erode the volcanic rock, shaping the arch and creating new formations.

Visitors to Arco de Tajao can witness the power of erosion firsthand and see how nature can shape the landscape over millions of years.
